About Us

Owner, Bruce Laderberg, has vast experience in insurance and other fields including retail, customer service and accounting. As an Owner and Agent of his Agency for 19 years, Bruce learned all aspects of running an insurance business. From marketing, hiring, training and writing quality business, he has the vision and know-how to become the region’s most successful Independent Agency.

From the time he opened in 1994, Bruce’s Insurance Agency went from a scratch agency to an agency having more than two thousand policies in force. During his career, Bruce has been deeply engaged in the insurance industry. He is a Past President of the Norfolk Insurance Association and Past Regional Vice President of the Virginia Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. He has won numerous awards from both his partner companies and the broader community.

Bruce attained his Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow designation from The American College. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of South Carolina, then worked for CCH Computax Systems, a computer software company that wrote tax programs for accounting firms. Bruce tested new products and develop manuals for client use. Next, Bruce went to men’s apparel manufacturer Hart, Schaffner and Marx as a Regional sales Manager of a district covering Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.

In 1983, Bruce he opened his own retail store, selling children’s clothes and shoes, and over the next ten years expanded from one store with a volume of $300,000 to four stores with a volume of over $1,000,000. Retail experience taught Bruce the value of good customer service, which he carried with him into the insurance business.

Bruce was the first agent hired by Farmers in his district in Southeastern Virginia and the rest is history.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide counseling and advice to clients to help them choose the products that will best protect them and their families in times of loss. This advice would be the same as we would give to my own family.
